At the Abbott house, Kyle’s freaking out about the developments with Patty and Diane. Jack thinks his mother is being held somewhere and Patty is involved… she showed him a picture. He’ll have to play along and negotiate with Patty to get her back.
Kyle questions if they should go to Burrow, but Jack says Patty warned him not to do that. Traci saw Patty talking to her psychiatrist, Laurence Markham, the man who supposedly cured her. He runs a behavioral clinic upstate.

They argue about Jack pretending to have a romantic reunion with Patty to find Diane. Jack has to do it to get information and then he’ll turn the tables on her.
At the Club, Patty’s on the phone saying that it doesn’t matter if Diane’s going along with her treatment or not, she’ll get what she wants regardless. After disconnecting, Patty gets a call from Jack wanting to discuss their future and asking her to come by the house.

Threatening Methods
In the strange house, Diane listens to the sounds of dogs outside and refuses food from the doctor. She rants about being held against her will. The man claims that her husband has asked him to give her the best care possible. Diane wants to speak to him… now.
The doctor tries talking Diane out of talking to her husband. She snaps that she hasn’t had a breakdown and is perfectly sane. The doctor points out that she can’t remember how she got there. Diane suspects she was drugged. She thinks he’s lying through his teeth. Diane tangles with the man at length, questioning if he’s even a real doctor. He freaks her out by alluding to “methods” of putting these thoughts out of her mind.

Diane asks about the clinic he wants to take her to, but he’s not forthcoming. He wants her to eat, or he’ll have no choice but to figure out another method to ensure her body is nourished. Diane starts noshing on some veggies.
Mind, Soul, and Heart
At the Abbott house, Jack welcomes Patty in. She starts pawing his lapels and he asks for assurances about Diane… he wants to speak to her doctor. Patty supposes that could be arranged but warns that once he says yes to her there will be no going back.

Patty isn’t up for a temporary arrangement that will end with Diane comes back. Her healing will take a while, so he’s wasting his time pining for her. Patty wants his mind, soul and heart. It’s the only way to save Diane. “What it going to be, Jack?” Jack says he’s completely committed. “My answer is yes.”
Patty kinda’ can’t believe this. She wants to go on a date now that they’re officially a couple. They won’t hide it away as though he’s ashamed of her. Patty urges him to focus on her instead of Diane, who could never love him like she does.

Jack reminds Patty that he took a vow to protect Diane and needs to speak to her doctor. Patty will get the information. Jack reminds her that Diane must come to no harm. Patty knows he’s worried and has doubts, but he’ll see that this will be beyond his wildest expectations.
Kyle appears and Patty declares that she and his father are seeing each other. Kyle asks what the hell is going on. Patty purrs that their night on the yacht rekindled something for both of them. Jack tells Kyle his mother appears to have left them for good. Kyle, ranting, asks Patty what the hell she’s done with his mother. Jack intervenes and tells Kyle they’re going out for cocktails.

Head Exploding
At Society, Patty gushes about Jack defending her honor with Kyle. She hasn’t had that in a long time. She wants to order oysters because they’re an aphrodisiac but Jack declines. Abby walks out and stops in her tracks when she sees them. Abby confronts the pair and learns they’re on a date. She stares daggers at her uncle. Patty asks if there’s a problem.

Abby drags Jack off and asks what the hell he’s doing. Jack tells his niece, “Diane left me.” Abby rants and Jack whispers that Patty may know where he can find Diane. Abby decides not to let her head explode. She’s sure Diane will come home. Jack rejoins Patty for bubbly, and she demands he makes a toast. He says, “Here’s to everyone getting what they deserve.”

Back at the strange house, Diane has eaten and wants to know when she’s going to the clinic. The man says tomorrow, handing her a bag of toiletries. Diane rants that he’s holding her prisoner when she just wants to get home. “Who are you and what is this all about?” He insists he’s there to help her… whether she likes it or not.

At the Abbott house, Billy walks in to confront Jack about Abby seeing him with Patty. Jack explains that Patty may know where Diane is at. He asks if she’s in danger. Abby arrives and Jack assembles the whole family, including Kyle and Traci. He explains that Patty is still obsessed with him. He’s letting her think she’s calling the shots until he can turn the tables on her.

Kyle and Jack explain that Patty has Diane “in treatment” but they’ve no idea where. Burrow is discreetly looking into things, but he has to play along with Patty in the meantime. As the Abbotts rant, Jack wonders if Patty’s been planning this all along. He has no choice but to agree to her demands.
The Final Scenes
At the Abbott house, Billy wonders if Patty will drug Jack every night so he can tolerate dating her. Jack tries to reassure his family and warns them not to tip her off. He’ll fake fall in love with her to get Diane back.

Traci warns that Patty is too unpredictable (no kidding, she shot Jack twice!). There are too many ways this could go wrong. Kyle thinks his dad has to do it as they’ve no time to waste. Jack will do whatever he can to save Diane from whatever hell Patty has put her in. They’re all behind him. Jack warns Traci and Kyle that Patty wants to move into the house. Abby gawps, “Thank God my mom isn’t here.” Jack continues, “And she wants everyone else to move out.”
