The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Wednesday, June 17, reveals that Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) will work on a new scheme to get out of the jam she’s stuck in.
Dr. Laurence Markham (Jere Burns) will get tricked as a result, so here’s what Y&R fans can look forward to.
At the Abbott mansion, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will put on an angry show in front of Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk), but Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will tell them not to make this harder than it has to be.
Kyle and Traci will move out while Patty leans back on the couch and celebrates having the house to herself with Jack.
Although Patty will hint about getting naughty, Jack will make it clear that nothing is going to happen until he hears from Diane’s doctor.
Patty will insist her own doctor is going to get in touch with contact info for Diane’s doc and will push Jack to trust that Diane is in good hands.
At the GCAC, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will confront Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) for lying to her about Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) promising her Chancellor in exchange for her fake kidnapping cooperation.
Lily will argue that when Nikki asked her, the deal was still up in the air.
Nikki won’t hold Victor’s decision against Lily, but she’ll have a big problem with Lily’s plan to put Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) in charge.
When Traci shows up at the athletic club with her luggage, Lily and Traci will notice.
That’ll lead to Traci explaining the missing Diane situation and how Jack’s being forced to surrender to Patty’s demands.
Nikki will want to confront Jack, but Traci will warn her to avoid tipping Patty off to Jack’s real motives since he’s only doing this to get Diane back.
Once Nikki barges in the Abbott mansion, she’ll wonder what Jack is thinking and slam Patty for thinking she can replace Jack’s wife.
Patty won’t see why Nikki is defending Diane anyway and will push her to focus on her own marriage issues.
After Nikki storms out, she’ll experience some blurred vision and another painful headache.
It’ll leave Nikki unsteady as she tries to walk away from Jack’s house.
At Society, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will bring Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) up to speed on the Patty and Jack drama as well, but she’ll urge him to focus on the family they’re building together instead.
At Crimson Lights, Devon Winters (Bryton James) will make it clear that Cane’s good deed for Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) doesn’t erase all the trouble he’s caused.
After Devon repeatedly lashes out, Cane will realize Devon is trying to provoke him.
Cane will admit it’s working since he wants to punch Devon in the mouth, but he’ll contend that he’s not that person anymore.
Devon won’t buy that Cane has changed and will be in the middle of blasting him when Lily walks in.
Lily will rush to Cane’s defense before Devon takes off.
After Cane and Lily visit the Chancellor offices together, she’ll give him a key to his own office and flirt with him as they discuss the future.
At Dr. Markham’s house, Diane will rummage around while the doc is gone and discover a phone in a drawer.
Diane will hope to use it, but she won’t know the password to unlock it.
When Dr. Markham returns, Diane will hide the phone and pretend to be in a much better mood.
Dr. Markham will be pleased to see that Diane has changed her clothes and is more willing to accept that she needs mental help.
Diane will gush over the progress she’s making under Dr. Markham’s care and act like hospitals have always given her anxiety.
After Diane hints about having panic attacks in clinical settings, she’ll push Dr. Markham to let her stay there instead.
Dr. Markham will remind Diane that this is his private residence, but she’ll suggest she wants to continue treatment solely under him and avoid this new clinic he’s pushing for.
In the end, Dr. Markham will agree to think about Diane’s request.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Diane will obviously be working to trick Dr. Markham into letting her stay put, so stick with us for more news on her sneaky plan!
