The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that the action’s about to heat up on the CBS soap. Some twists and turns are on the way, so here’s what fans can expect for Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).
Y&R Head Writer Josh Griffith spoke to SOD about Cane and Lily’s future, which will involve more than just an attempt to figure things out romantically.
It turns out Lily and Cane have an even bigger storyline coming up this June.
“There is a surprising turn of events that puts a powerful piece of information in Billy’s hands that will throw Cane and Lily together to try to stop Billy from going after something he wants,” Griffith teased.
Griffith didn’t go into the details of what that hint actually means, but we can certainly speculate.
It sounds like Billy might find out some pivotal news that leaves him hoping for Chancellor power once again.
Billy has been trying to act like Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and their impending bundle of joy are enough for him, but we all know he’ll never be over losing Chancellor.
If there’s a chance for Billy to get it back, he’s going to pursue it.
Of course, Lily struck a deal with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) when she agreed to participate in his kidnapping ruse.
Victor agreed to give Lily Chancellor in exchange, so Cane’s still counting on Victor to come through for Lily.
However, something may happen that leaves Chancellor’s future up in the air.
Based on whatever powerful info Billy uncovers, he may see an opportunity to finally snatch Chancellor up for himself.
Whether that involves a shocking deal of his own with Victor or some other path to power, Billy will be eager to use his upper hand to his advantage.
Nevertheless, Cane and Lily are going to join forces against Billy, so they’ll do whatever they can to make sure the situation works out in Lily’s favor.
Lily may envision a future where she runs Chancellor with Cane by her side, but Billy could threaten that plan.
Could this whole mess be what leads to Lauren Koslow’s temporary run as Jill Abbott (last played by Jess Walton) kicking off?
Jill will be back starting June 25, so the timing fits!
