The Newmans Hold a Heated Confrontation With Matt Clark — and Nick Collapses.

At the Club, Lily updates Nate and Devon on Malcolm’s successful surgery and they toast, “To Malcolm!” When the topic inevitably comes around to Cane being the match, Devon can’t resist snarking about him getting himself arrested before changing the subject to Holden. Lily says he’s impressed her.

Lily’s phone rings… it’s Cane welcoming her home. Devon rolls his eyes. Cane tells Lily he has a surprise and asks her to come over. Playing with her hair, she says she’ll swing by. She disconnects and Devon informs her that they don’t like Cane. People are dead because of him!

Lily can’t ignore that he saved Malcom’s life. Devon’s sure he’ll use that to manipulate her… he’s already doing it. Lily fumes that she can take care of herself. Devon asks, “Are you sure about that?!” Lily snaps, shouting that Devon is angry at the world and taking it out on her! She stalks off to go see Cane.

At the Cane train, he welcomes Lily in, where he has a dinner for two set up with champagne and red roses to celebrate the success of Malcolm’s procedure. Lily says, “Thanks to you.” Ashby acts all humble and she agrees to stay for dinner.

Back at the Club, Abby joins Devon and Nate, who decides to head out. He hopes they can work things out. Once alone, Devon complains that Lily’s getting sucked back into Cane’s orbit.

Abby suggests Devon cut Ashby some slack and suggests he’s transferring his anger at Mariah onto him. His rage isn’t getting better. Devon feels bad knowing Dom’s picked up on it and reveals that he went to see Mariah.

Over on the Cane train, he and Lily toast to Malcolm living a long and happy life. Lily tells him Stephanie’s optimistic about Mal’s future and having Holden there was weirdly OK. He fit right in. Ashby’s over the moon about all of it.

Good Ol’ Days

On Crimson Lights’ patio, Nikki and Esther are remembering the good ol’ days with Katherine when Victoria walks in. Esther trots off and Victoria tells her mother, “We need to talk.” Nikki warns her not to bring up her father, who wouldn’t even call a truce for Nick.

Victoria tells her mother she’s there about Nick. She feels something is off and may be still using. Victoria isn’t sure that he actually went to rehab. Nikki warns that he has to find his own way and that addicts lie. She hopes she can guide Nick as Katherine did her, adding that Jack offered to be his sponsor. Victoria is with her; whatever Nick needs.

Nate wanders in and Nikki heads into Crimson Lights. Nate asks Victoria if everything is OK. She gripes that Phyllis still has their company, but switches gears to Malcolm’s diagnosis, and Holden being Lily’s brother, before asking what he knows about treating opioid addiction.

Free For All

In Phyllis’ office, she accuses Nick of setting her up. He tells her it’s over, pulls out his phone, sends a text, and then pops a pill while Victor confronts Phyllis about their deal. Matt asks her if she’s selling him out.

Phyllis tries telling Matt to trust her, but he doesn’t. Nick huffs, “You cannot be serious,” and mocks her for believing Clark has amnesia. Sharon, Noah and Sienna walk in. Matt declares that he wants to make amends. Victor warns, “Your days of terrorizing our family are over.”

Phyllis complains that this wasn’t the deal. Victor tells her it’s out of her hands now. Matt realizes Sienna is the wife who betrayed him. When he claims not to recognize Sharon, Nick hollers that Matt’s going down whether he remembers the reasons or not. Matt fumes that Nick punched him and Noah slept with his wife, yet, somehow, he’s the bad guy?!

They all start rhyming off the things Matt has done to him. Phyllis intervenes… he doesn’t know who he is! Nick seethes that she’s an idiot for believing his act. Sienna asks if he really doesn’t remember who she is. He flashes to their fight in Vegas and says, “You tried to kill me.”

Sienna explains it was self-defence as Sharon tells him about blowing up the gas station. Victor and Nick bellow as Matt protests that he has no memory of any of this. “Please! From the bottom of my heart, I am truly and genuinely sorry.” Nick snarls, “We’re way past sorry,” and pulls out his phone, looking wrecked.

On the Cane train, Lily tells him that Victor promised her Chancellor again, but told her he needs more time. Cane gets that and thinks he’ll make good. Lily hope’s he’s right so the hell she put him through was worth it. After dinner, Lily heads for the door and kisses Cane goodbye.
