Paralympic legend Hannah Cockroft has announced the arrival of her first child with husband and fellow Team GB athlete Nathan Maguire — just a year and a half after the couple tied the knot.
The proud new parents revealed they have welcomed a baby girl named Rosie Marigold Maguire, sharing the emotional news with fans on Instagram alongside a touching black-and-white photo of their hands holding their daughter’s tiny hand.
Announcing the birth, the couple wrote: “Three whole weeks of you. 05.05.2026. Rosie Marigold Maguire.”

Fans quickly flooded the comments with love and congratulations. One supporter wrote: “Welcome to the world Rosie! Many congratulations to you all,” while another added: “Congratulations to you both! Beautiful name.”
Others described the newborn as “precious” and “gorgeous,” with one fan joking: “You’re in for a wild ride, good job you’re athletes!”
The couple first revealed they were expecting back in December, sharing a festive snap beside a Christmas tree while holding up their baby scan. At the time, they told followers: “Baby Maguire, coming May 2026.”

Hannah and Nathan’s love story began back in 2012 after meeting at a Youth Sport Trust talent event shortly after the London Olympics. While Hannah attended as an established sporting star, Nathan was emerging as a promising wheelchair racing talent.
Their friendship gradually turned romantic as they continued crossing paths at training camps and competitions over the years.
The pair eventually married in October 2024 following their appearances at the Paris Paralympic Games, holding their wedding ceremony at Halifax Minster before celebrating with loved ones at the historic Dean Clough mill venue in Halifax.

Hannah is regarded as one of Britain’s greatest Paralympians, having won nine Paralympic gold medals and 19 World Championship titles during her incredible career. She also holds multiple world and Paralympic records across wheelchair sprint events.
Away from the track, Hannah also became a familiar face to TV audiences after appearing on The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer in 2019.
Meanwhile, Nathan has also enjoyed major sporting success, winning Commonwealth and European Championship gold medals throughout his career.
