Peter Andre couldn’t hide his pride this Father’s Day as he celebrated his eldest daughter, Princess, describing her as “still my baby” despite her meteoric rise as a teen entrepreneur.
The singer and TV star, 53, revealed in an exclusive interview that while Princess, 18, is busy building her own empire — from a TV show to brand deals and a makeup collection — she remains the same daughter he’s always known.
“I love all my kids equally, but there’s an innocence about Princess that I adore,” he said. “She’s 18, but to me she’s still a young 18. She’s doing amazing things, but I just want her to have fun and experience life fully.”
Peter, who lives in Surrey with wife Emily and children Millie, 12, and Theo, nine, plus stepdaughter Arabella, described the joy of letting his children explore life without the strict restrictions he grew up under.
“I was a lot stricter 21 years ago because I came from a very strict family. As my kids have grown, I’ve realised I no longer agree with all of it. I want them to be happy and able to talk to me about everything,” he added.
The doting dad also reflected on Princess’s growing independence, particularly when it came to relationships. “When Princess got to 14 and started talking about boys, it softened my heart. I remembered I was like that once and wasn’t allowed to have a girlfriend. It was important to me that she felt free to share things with me.”
Peter revealed that he also hopes his eldest son, Junior, 21, will carve out a career “ten times bigger” than his own, while Millie excels academically and Theo shines in the arts. Little Arabella is slowly bonding with him through playful garden games.
Despite his pop star fame, Peter admits he still struggles with dad jokes and feels his legendary abs are in “hibernation,” though his children are always encouraging.
“This summer marks 30 years since ‘Mysterious Girl’ topped the charts. I could bring my abs out of retirement, but at 53, I’m not sure I want to go shirtless again!” he joked.
On Father’s Day, Peter’s focus remains firmly on his family. “Having a good relationship with my kids is what matters most. Fame or stadiums mean nothing without them,” he said.
He also revealed that he and Emily have reignited regular date nights despite their busy schedules — a crucial ingredient in keeping their marriage strong while raising five children.
“Sometimes you have to step out of parent mode and just enjoy each other. It’s hard, but it’s worth it,” he said.
