Nobody in the ITV studio saw this coming. When 84-year-old Dorothy stepped onto the stage of Beat The Chasers, the chasers looked completely relaxed, expecting an easy win. She calmly announced she wanted the prize money for a giant zipline and a wing walk, drawing laughs from the crowd. But what started as a heartwarming moment quickly turned into the most mind-blowing showdown in the history of the quiz show. Three of the greatest minds on television were about to face a nightmare they never trained for.

A grandma from Norfolk has scooped a huge £30,000 win on a hit ITV quiz show.

Dorothy, 84, appeared on Beat the Chasers this Sunday which is a spin-off of The Chase.

The show sees contestants go head-to-head with a number of chasers to win big cash prizes.

Dorothy from Watton chose to play three chasers – Paul, ‘The Sinnerman’ Sinha, Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan and Shaun ‘The Dark Destroyer’ Wallace.

The audience watched on as Dorothy was in with a chance to win £30,000 to support her future daring adventures.

For her 85th birthday, the former personnel officer has plans to tackle the zip wire down Penrhyn Quarry in Wales.

With nerves of steel, a wing walk is on the to-do list for her 90th celebration and the winnings would come in handy to cover the insurance costs.

Despite it seeming like the chasers were going to win, after two slip-ups from The Sinnerman, Dorothy managed to take the victory with four seconds to spare
