The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Thursday, June 18, reveals that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) will have to deal with more security measures.
Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) will also have a hunch about Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) game and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) relents on getting medical help.
At Society on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will discuss their career options since Newman Media was folded into Spectra-Charles Media.
Adam will consider putting up a legal fight, but Chelsea will wonder if he’d even feel comfortable doing that to Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).
Adam will also suggest Chelsea could go back to Marchetti, but Chelsea won’t want that either.
After Adam says he could walk away from the family business, Chelsea won’t want him giving up on whatever plan Victor has for him.
Since Adam will still want to be a team with Chelsea, there’ll ultimately be some talk about trying to rebuild Newman Media.
At the GCAC, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will bump into Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and learn he got kicked out of the Abbott house along with Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell).
Nikki will pop up and help Kyle explain that it’s because of Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) scheme.
After Nikki struggles with more headaches, she’ll privately tell Victoria about her blurred vision lately as well.
Victoria will push Nikki to call a doctor tomorrow and will help her mom upstairs to get some rest.
Kyle will notice that Nikki looks unsteady on her feet, so he’ll question Victoria when she returns to the bar.
That’ll lead to Victoria and Kyle bonding over how they worry about both their parents and their kids.
In Nikki’s suite, she’ll remain in pain as she puts a compress on her head.
Victoria will eventually show up and insist that Nikki seeing a doctor tomorrow is no longer a request.
Nikki will relent, but she’ll want Victoria to keep her doctor’s visit under wraps – especially from Victor.
At the Newman ranch, Victor will give Matt a wallet with an ID and credit cards. Matt will also receive a phone and will learn he’ll have to wear an ankle monitor.
Matt will complain about the ankle monitor part, but he’ll eventually acknowledge that trust has to be built a little bit at a time.
Matt will admit he’s lonely and will thank Victor for showing him kindness.
That said, Matt will also fear Victor is just setting him up to be the fall guy after his Cane plot plays out.
Victor will promise that’s not the case and assure Matt that he’ll be fine as long as he keeps doing what he’s told.
At the coffeehouse, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will run into Cane and gloat over the news that Victor gave her Arabesque.
Cane will act like it doesn’t bother him, but Phyllis will think he’s lying about that.
There’ll be some tension, but Cane will ultimately ask about Phyllis’ estrangement from her children and genuinely hope things work out for her in that department.
Phyllis will also show some sincerity when she praises Cane for saving Malcolm Winters’ (Shemar Moore) life.
On Victor’s orders, Matt will make a phone call to Cane and admit he got his number from the Newmans.
After Matt asks to get together so he can pick Cane’s brain about business and get some advice, Cane will tell him to come to Crimson Lights.
That’s where Cane will shut down Matt’s attempts to flatter him and call out what he’s doing.
Cane will demand answers about why Matt is getting to know him and will wonder what Victor wants.
Finally, The Young and the Restless spoilers say Kyle will have a tense encounter with Victor at the athletic club, so stay tuned for more Newman-Abbott conflict.
