Genoa City is about to face its worst nightmare all over again.

This should be an incredibly happy time for Young & Restless’ Sally. She’s head over heels in love with Billy, they’re engaged, and they’re expecting a child. So why are we more worried about her than excited for her? Brace yourselves.

Here Comes Trouble

Billy was only too delighted to stick it to nemesis Adam by revealing that he and Sally were having a baby. Billy knew that the news would land like a sucker punch, given the fact that Sally lost the child she and Adam were once expecting. But what Billy might not have anticipated was just how invested Adam would become in his ex and the little life she is carrying.

Adam’s feeling is “If I can protect this child because I couldn’t protect the child that I lost, I will,” headwriter Josh Griffith tells Soap Opera Digest. What’s so worrisome about that? As you well know, sometimes the best of intentions lead to the most dreadful of outcomes.

A Crushing Loss?

Suppose in Adam’s efforts to safeguard Sally and the baby, he takes a step too far. He isn’t someone who’s well-known for his respect of boundaries, after all. Inadvertently, Adam’s attempt to do a good deed causes Sally to miscarry. Can you imagine the fallout? It would be Delia’s demise all over again!

Billy’s hatred of Adam would skyrocket. The heartbreak could drive Sally back to her wicked ways. Even Chelsea might blame her significant other for going too far and making Billy and Sally suffer the repercussions. The question is, would Young & Restless really saddle Sally with yet another tragedy?
