Gemma Collins has revealed her beloved mum Joan has been rushed to hospital with pneumonia, admitting she was so worried she could not sleep all night.
The reality TV favourite, 45, shared the emotional update with fans on Instagram, posting a picture of Joan in her hospital bed while thanking medical staff for looking after her.
Gemma told followers that her mum had “caught pneumonia” but reassured them that Joan was doing well.
Even during the frightening hospital dash, Gemma still found a sweet moment of humour, telling her mum she was “still looking glam.”

The former TOWIE star later admitted the scare had left her shaken.
In a second Instagram Story, Gemma said it had been lovely to laugh with Joan during her hospital visit, but added that the experience had reminded her that “no day is ever promised.”
She wrote that she could not sleep at all the previous night because she was so worried.
For Gemma, who has spoken openly in the past about her close bond with Joan, the latest health scare was clearly deeply emotional.

Gemma also shared a video of Joan during a shopping trip, praying they would be back together soon doing what they love.
“Please God we will be back together soon shopping,” she wrote.
The post captured the everyday mother-daughter moments Gemma is desperate to return to — laughing, spending time together and enjoying normal life away from hospital wards and health fears.
Fans quickly sent messages of love and support, with many wishing Joan a speedy recovery.
This is not the first time Joan has battled pneumonia.
In December 2025, she was admitted to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, Essex, after contracting the infection and spent several weeks recovering.
She had also previously been hospitalised with pneumonia in March 2020.
Joan’s health has been a major source of anxiety for Gemma over the years.
In 2024, she was left terrified when her mum was taken into intensive care after she stopped breathing.
At the time, Gemma said she had been warned that Joan could die, leaving her overwhelmed by the suddenness of the crisis.
The latest hospital update comes after Gemma recently opened up about her own health journey.
The reality star has spoken about using weight-loss medication and said the experience initially felt “liberating” because it changed her relationship with food.
However, she later revealed she had to stop after suffering a painful gallbladder attack.
Despite the setback, Gemma said she has still managed to lose 3.4 stone.
She discussed the experience during her recent appearance on I’m A Celebrity… South Africa 2026, explaining that the medication curbed her appetite in a way she had never experienced before.
Gemma said she was shocked when she went out for a meal and did not want bread from the table.
She described the feeling as freeing, especially after years of trying different diets.
But she also admitted that weight loss is complicated and that every body responds differently.
Gemma said she has tried countless diets over the years, from extreme food plans to celebrity-inspired regimes.
Now, she appears focused on finding what works for her while accepting that health journeys are deeply personal.
Through it all, Gemma has credited her fiancé Rami Hawash with loving her exactly as she is.
She said he has known her for years and supports her whether her weight goes up or down.
That support has clearly mattered during a period where Gemma has faced both her own health issues and worrying moments involving her mum.
But Joan’s latest hospitalisation has shifted Gemma’s focus firmly back to family.
Gemma has always been open about how much her mum means to her.
Joan has appeared in Gemma’s public life over the years and has become familiar to fans who follow the star’s family updates.
Their relationship is full of humour, glamour and affection — which is why Gemma’s hospital posts felt so heartfelt.
Even as she shared a worrying update, Gemma wanted fans to know that Joan was still smiling, still glamorous and still fighting.
The message behind Gemma’s posts was simple but powerful.
Life can change quickly.
Health can become fragile without warning.
And the ordinary moments with loved ones — a laugh, a shopping trip, a quick conversation — suddenly feel more precious than ever.
For Gemma, the hope now is that Joan continues to recover and that the pair are soon reunited outside hospital walls.
Until then, she is sending love to her mum, thanking the doctors and nurses, and holding on to the belief that better days are coming.
