The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Monday, June 8, reveal that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will hope Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) is willing to get on board with her big idea.
It’ll be the perfect solution in Lily’s eyes, but Cane may have some reservations.
After Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) comes through on his Chancellor promise, Lily asks Cane how he’d feel about running it for her on Friday’s episode.
Cane will presumably give Lily an answer on Monday, but will it be the “yes” she’s hoping for?
Cane may point out that if Lily puts him in charge, plenty of people won’t be happy about it.
Devon Winters (Bryton James) is sure to object along with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), but Lily may insist Cane shouldn’t worry about their reactions.
However, Cane may acknowledge that Victor isn’t going to be pleased with Lily’s leadership choice either.
Victor is a powerful man who’s proven he can cause a lot of trouble.
We can’t forget that Victor totally destroyed Arabesque, so Cane may fear putting him on the throne will put Chancellor in jeopardy, too.
Lily may argue that Chancellor is hers now and she can do whatever she wants with it.
Since Victor was willing to hand it over, Lily may not think he’s going to create any problems for her moving forward.
Victor cares about Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) legacy, so Lily may not foresee Victor doing anything destructive to the company.
Cane may take a little time to mull this offer over, but let’s be real: he’ll do absolutely anything Lily wants him to do.
It’s tough to imagine Cane turning Lily down since he just isn’t someone who can say no to her.
Plus, we know Cane and Lily will have to stand against Billy’s threat in the not-too-distant future.
It certainly sounds like Cane will agree to run Chancellor and face hurdles just like he anticipated.
In addition to whatever Y&R drama Billy will stir up, it seems Victor will involve Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) in another scheme to target Cane.
Lily could be creating major issues for herself with Cane as a CEO choice, but she’ll be adamant that he’s who should run Chancellor.
Cane may give Lily good news by accepting her offer, but it’ll be the calm before the storm.
