At the Athletic Club, Victoria spots Kyle, who explains he and Harrison are staying there. “We’ve been kicked out of our house.”
Nikki appears and explains to Victoria that Jack’s moved Patty into the house. The crazy bitch is holding Diane hostage! Kyle says Jack is trying to play Patty to get information. When he moves to the bar, Nikki suffers a headache attack, and tells Victoria they won’t stop and seem to be getting worse.

Victoria wants her mother to call the doctor when she admits her vision gets blurry, but Nikki just wants to go and lie down. Victoria helps her up the stairs as Kyle watches, puzzled.
After installing Nikki in bed with an ice pack, Victoria rejoins Kyle and explains that her mother wasn’t feeling well. They bond over worrying about their parents and she decides to join him for a drink. Afterward, she goes upstairs and informs Nikki that she’s seeing the doctor tomorrow.

Making Plans
At Society, Chelsea fumes to Adam that Connor saw Matt Clark on the property today and questioned her. She wants to know what his father has planned. Adam explains Matt will be working to get on the inside with Cane since Victor still sees him as a threat. Talk turns to Lily putting Cane in charge of Chancellor, and they wonder when the big merry-go-round will stop, as do we. As. Do. We.

Adam wonders what happens to them now that they’ve lost Newman Media. Getting riled up, Chelsea fumes that they got screwed. Adam suggests she go back to Marchetti, but she’s not up for it. He wants to walk away and build something new together, but Chelsea urges him to take whatever Victor offers even if she’s left out. He won’t hear of it.
Next Steps
At the ranch, Victor meets with Matt. He heard that he successfully played his part with Cane Ashby, and now it’s time for the next step. Victor wants him to get Cane on the hook and start reeling him in.

Plunking down a bag, Victor tells Matt it’s everything he needs to become Cane’s new friend, including ID and a phone. He’ll also wear an ankle monitor. If he passes the test, he can rejoin society. If he tries to pull one over on him, prison will seem good compared to what he’ll put him through.
Matt insists he won’t screw Victor over. The Mustache thinks he sounds sincere. Matt worries about what Nick thinks. Victor reminds him he did a lot of damage to his son, it may be too much (ya think?). Matt waxes on about his life being a puzzle, and the shame and regret. Victor muses that sometimes he apologizes and sometimes he just lets things be.

Matt thanks Victor for the open and real conversation, admitting he’s been lonely his whole life. He appreciates him being decent, but wonders if he’s just using him as a chump to take the fall. He needs to know how this ends for him. Victor reassures him, and then informs him it’s time to make the call.
Dropping Bombs
At Crimson Lights, Phyllis spots Cane and approaches her hostile ex-lover, ranting that she got the charges dropped and saved his ass again. They bicker, and she adds that he can thank her for Chancellor too since she gave it back to Victor. After needling about Cane getting back in Lily’s good graces, she teases about what she got from Victor. “The irony is rich. You’re going to love this.”

Cane is clearly stunned when she drops the bomb that he handed her a company called… Arabesque. “Does that ring any bells for you?” He maintains composure as Phyllis explains that she got it free and clear because Victor admired her for taking him down. Cane claims it doesn’t bother him, but Phyllis knows Arabesque was his crown jewel.

Irritated, Cane sniffs that Victor merely gave her scraps… there’s nothing there. Phyllis claims otherwise and calls him out for trying to pretend he’s not upset about it. Cane says Chancellor is his future and asks, “Do you even know what you own?” Phyllis erupts into a speech about making it her legacy and storms away.
The Final Scenes
At Society, Adam tells Chelsea the Newman Media ship hasn’t sailed. They’ll build it up again with new, better talent. He’ll inform Victor. Chelsea hugs him.

At Crimson Lights, Phyllis heads for the door, calling out to Cane that she’ll send him an invite to her Arabesque launch party. He stops her to ask about her kids. Phyllis says Daniel still wants nothing to do with her and Summer’s not getting back to her. He hopes they thaw and tells her he’s made progress with his kids. Phyllis thanks him for saving Malcolm.

Cane’s phone rings and he steps away. It’s Matt Clark, of course, who says he got his number from the Newmans and wants to get a drink and pick his brain. Ashby squints as he considers this and then tell him to meet him at Crimson Lights.

At the ranch, Matt disconnects and tells Victor, “All set.”
At the Athletic Club, Nikki agrees to see a doctor, but argues with Victoria about telling Victor what’s going on. Nikki fumes that she doesn’t want any forced concern or sympathy from him!

Downstairs, Victor wanders in, spots Kyle, who is on the phone thanking Lucy for watching Harrison tonight, and needles him about his family and Patty. Kyle warns that he won’t let it slide that Victor brought Patty Williams back, and suggests he focus on his own family. “I hear things aren’t going too well.” Victor smirks, “Ooo.”
At Crimson Lights, Phyllis watches from the patio as Cane asks Matt Clark why he’s trying to get to know him. “What does Victor Newman want?”
