Nigel Farage has warned that “division will get far worse” unless the UK ends “two-tier policing”.

The Reform UK leader, who was criticised by Sir Keir Starmer at Prime Minister’s Questions today, spoke out just hours after thousands descended on Southampton Central police station to demand justice for Henry Nowak.

Two protesters were arrested last night after 11 police officers and one police dog were left injured in the demonstration.

However, Mr Farage expressed his fears about more unrest.

He told TimesRadio: “The division will get far worse. What you saw in Southampton last night is the beginning.

“If we get large numbers of young white males who think the police are prejudiced against them, goodness knows where we go. This has to end.”

Mr Farage already issued an “emergency address to the nation” in which he said the only way Britons should respond to the killing is with “pure, cold rage”.

Defending his language, which Sir Keir described as “exploiting the tragedy to cause division”, the Reform UK leader said: “I used that term very, very deliberately. Was I angry watching what had happened? Yeah, I bet you were too. Millions of us were.

“In fact, it’s hard to be a human being and not be angry watching it. But I suggested that rage was put in a cold way, not a hot way.”
