Fans of Channel 4’s hit show Gogglebox have been showering Jenny Newby and Lee Riley with love after the duo announced the end of the current series.
The Hull favourites, who first joined the programme in 2014, quickly became fan favourites with their sharp humour and warm onscreen chemistry. Over the years, they’ve offered their opinions on the week’s biggest TV moments, turning every episode into a must-watch double act.
In a heartfelt video shared on their joint Instagram account, Lee told followers:
“Well guys, that’s it, the last of the show this evening. I hope you’ve enjoyed all 16 weeks as much as we have. Thank you for all your support through this series.”
Jenny added with a smile: “Yeah, and we hope to see you all again in August.” Lee later confirmed they’d be back on screens towards the end of August or September, giving fans something to look forward to.

This bittersweet farewell comes shortly after the sad news of another Gogglebox star passing away. Studio Lambert, the production company behind the beloved Channel 4 show, confirmed that Ken Harwood had died at the age of 77. Ken, from Consett in County Durham, appeared on the programme between 2020 and 2022 alongside his wife Anne, to whom he had been married for 55 years.
A Studio Lambert spokesperson said: “He will be dearly missed by his wife Anne, sons Simon and Ross, daughter-in-law Elle, grandchildren Freya and Tristram, and all who knew him.” A tribute to Ken was included at the close of a recent Gogglebox episode, ensuring viewers had a chance to remember the star fondly.
Even as fans mourn, Jenny and Lee’s message reminds everyone why they remain such a treasured part of the show. For those already counting down the days, the Hull duo promises laughs, smiles, and a warm welcome when Gogglebox returns later this summer.
