Legendary rocker Sir Rod Stewart has left fans worried after abruptly cancelling two Las Vegas shows this past weekend. The 81-year-old icon was set to perform at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on May 29 and 30, but hours before the first show, a cancellation announcement came.
A spokesperson confirmed that health concerns were behind the decision. Following medical advice, Rod will take vocal rest to recover from a sinus infection, with plans to return to the stage from June 2.
Rod himself shared a heartfelt message:
“My apologies to my family of fans. I am on vocal rest as I recover from a sinus infection. I look forward to seeing you at a future show at Caesars Palace or on tour this summer.”

Fans quickly flooded social media with messages of concern and support:
- “Hope he’s ok
”
- “Here’s hoping he gets better soon
”
- “Sad, but more concerned that he stays well.”
This isn’t the first time Rod has had to cancel shows for health reasons. Last summer, several Vegas performances were also rescheduled after doctor’s orders.
Despite these setbacks, the rock legend remains focused on his music. Earlier this month, he shared plans for a UK farewell tour in 2027, including The O2 Arena, hinting that it might be his final major tour. “I’ll have to do something new, come on your show more often, maybe,” he joked.
Fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing Rod is prioritizing his health — and that more music is still on the horizon.
