With tensions rising and secrets refusing to stay hidden, viewers may not be ready for what happens next. 👀✨

Next week on Coronation Street, Daniel reaches breaking point as Jodie’s trolling is exposed, Todd’s missing phone sparks a new line of inquiry, and Tyrone feels the pressure as Carl closes in.

1) Will Daniel hurt Megan as he breaks under the pressure?

Daniel (Rob Mallard) faces another bruising week as his attempt to return to normal life quickly falls apart.

Recent weeks have seen Daniel pushed further into isolation after the fallout from ex-girlfriend Megan’s (Beth Nixon) grooming of Will (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) left him under attack from all sides.

His suspension from Weatherfield High—after Hope (Isabella Flanagan) falsely accused him of assault—has only deepened the crisis, while Jodie (Olivia Frances-Brown) has integrated herself as one of the few people he feels he can rely on.

What Daniel doesn’t yet know is that Jodie’s also been behind the anonymous Truthteller account, which has been posting inflammatory comments online and helped destroy both his confidence and reputation.

Daniel’s since been physically attacked, while son Bertie (Henry Duggan) has been subjected to bullying at school.

Although Jodie quietly shut down her original Truthteller account after Daniel reported it to the police, a second one has since popped up, dashing any hopes Daniel had that his ordeal was over.

As the week begins, Daniel’s anxious about returning to work, but Bertie does his best to encourage him by giving him a ‘World’s Best Teacher’ mug.

The gesture doesn’t last long. At school, Lily (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) reads out Truthteller2’s latest posts in the corridor, before deliberately barging into Daniel and causing the mug to smash.

Already struggling, Daniel breaks down as Jake (Bobby Bradshaw) films the moment on his phone.

Later, Daniel heads to the Rovers determined to drink, but Adam (Sam Robertson) intervenes and makes sure Sean (Antony Cotton) doesn’t serve him. Daniel storms out, and his anger soon finds another target when he spots Megan in the precinct.

Unable to hold back, Daniel rounds on Megan for ruining his life. With him spiralling so badly, could Megan find herself in danger?

“Well he’s definitely got form, hasn’t he,” Rob Mallard tells us. “He’s lost his head and lashed out at people before and it’s always an interesting aspect to his character.”

“He’s done a lot of work over the years to kind of quieten that side of himself but things like this just bring it straight back to the surface.”

2) Jodie’s secret is exposed

The following day, Daniel’s still fixated on the trolling as he checks his laptop for any further posts. But when Jodie makes an offhand comment, Daniel suddenly realises the truth.

Horrified, he confronts Jodie, finally understanding that the person who’s been acting as his closest supporter is the same person who’s been tormenting him online.

Daniel rages at her for the damage she’s caused, accusing her of fuelling his sleepless nights, paranoia and depression while pretending to be on his side.

Jodie insists that she has nothing to do with Truthteller2, but Daniel’s heard enough and throws her out.

Later, a drunk Daniel exposes Jodie in the Rovers, announcing to everyone that she’s his online stalker. Jodie responds by putting on a show of tears before fleeing the pub, leaving Daniel even more isolated than before.

“I think he feels it’s another moment of complete betrayal,” Rob continues. “He should never have trusted her to begin with, and he knew he shouldn’t have trusted her. But I think there was that kind of vague hope where you think, well, what are the chances that she’s another wrong ‘un.”

3) Daniel’s drinking puts Bertie at risk

Daniel’s confrontation with Jodie soon has dangerous consequences at home, as Bertie is left to fend for himself.

After exposing Jodie in the Rovers, Daniel returns to the flat drunk and in no state to look after his son. Bertie tells him he’s starving, but Daniel’s too out of it to respond properly and soon falls asleep on the sofa.

With no one else there to help, Bertie places a blanket over his dad and decides to make his own tea using the microwave. But the situation quickly gets out of hand when smoke starts pouring from the kitchen.

Bertie panics and runs out. Daniel remains asleep, unaware of what’s happening around him as Bertie wanders the streets.

The next morning, Daniel is woken by a call from the school, who tell him that Bertie hasn’t turned up.

As Daniel takes in his surroundings, he’s horrified to realise there’s no sign of his son.

“It’s like he’s betrayed the only woman that was loyal to him, because he promised Sinead that he would put himself second and Bertie first always,” Rob explains.

“And yet he’s allowed recent events to push Bertie to second, third, fourth place in his mind. So basically the only woman that didn’t betray him, he feels like he’s let her down now posthumously.”

Is Bertie safe?

4) Ken bears the brunt of Daniel’s anger

The fallout from Daniel’s drinking soon reaches No.1, where his family are forced to confront how far things have gone.

With Bertie having been put in serious danger, Adam loses patience and challenges Daniel over his irresponsible parenting.

The row quickly escalates, and Adam’s reference to Sinead pushes Daniel over the edge. As Daniel lashes out, Ken (William Roache) is accidentally caught by his elbow and is sent stumbling backwards onto the sofa.

“I think he just feels trapped, he goes to lash out at Adam and he catches Ken,” Rob continues. “It’s always Ken that he seems to hurt. When Daniel’s trapped he comes out fighting and that resentment he feels from his earlier life seems to find its way back towards Ken.

By the following day, Tracy (Kate Ford) tells Ken and Adam that Daniel isn’t fit to look after himself, let alone Bertie, and insists that they need to act.

Daniel later arrives at No.1 hoping to make peace with Ken, but he’s frustrated to realise that Adam and Tracy are involved in the conversation too.

Ken then voices his own fears, warning Daniel that he could be heading down the same alcoholic path as half-brother Peter (Chris Gascoyne).

Daniel storms out, but the family’s intervention is soon followed by an even bigger shock, as social services arrive at his door.

“He’s completely beside himself,” Rob adds. “He thinks that he’s going to have his kid taken off him and again it’s all to do with keeping a promise that he made to Sinead.”

Can Daniel pull himself back from the brink before he loses Bertie altogether?

5) Idris’s work with Brody raises suspicion

Meanwhile, Idris (Junaid Khan) remains firmly on Leanne’s (Jane Danson) radar next week, while Brody’s (Ryan Mulvey) new job also starts to raise concern.

After arriving on the street last week, Idris soon took Brody under his wing by offering him work clearing out a flat in the precinct.

He also caught Leanne’s eye, with the pair sharing a kiss before Alya (Sair Khan) warned her to steer well clear. Despite Idris’s charm, Alya made it clear that her cousin’s past relationships give her reason to be wary.

Next week, Idris calls at Speed Daal and wastes little time flirting with Leanne again, suggesting they should have another night out.

Alya again warns Leanne that she’s playing with fire, but it doesn’t seem Leanne’s ready to heed her warning

Idris also has business in mind, telling Alya that he wants her to look after his legal affairs. At Alya’s insistence, Adam agrees to look through Idris’s files and consider taking him on as a client.

Later in the week, Brody seems to be doing well in his new job, but Dylan (Liam McCheyne) soon makes a dig about his past stealing cars for Carl (Jonathan Howard).

Leanne overhears and is concerned, leaving her to question Idris about the kind of work he’s giving Brody.

Is Idris offering Brody a fresh start, or is Leanne right to be worried?

6) Todd’s shaken over Summer’s drastic decision

Elsewhere on the cobbles, Todd (Gareth Pierce) is left increasingly worried for Summer (Harriet Bibby), as life behind bars begins to wear her down.

Summer is awaiting trial after being charged with killing Theo (James Cartwright) and denied bail, leaving Todd trying to support her from the outside.

The investigation has also continued to widen, with Danielle (Natalie Anderson) being questioned by Lisa (Vicky Myers) after Ryan (Ryan Prescott) remembered seeing her on the night Theo died.

But Summer’s own situation remains bleak, and next week Todd is shaken when he sees how distressed she has become.

During a visit, Summer admits that despite her innocence, she’s considering pleading guilty to manslaughter, believing it may be the only realistic option left to her.

Devastated, Todd later opens up to Sarah (Tina O’Brien), as the weight of Summer’s situation continues to bear down on him.

Meanwhile, Lisa’s own frustration with the case becomes clearer when she talks to Carla (Alison King), complaining that her new boss seems prepared to let Summer take the blame for Theo’s death without pushing the investigation further.

Todd then asks Lisa whether he can finally have his phone back. Since Theo took the phone from him on the night he died, Todd has assumed it’s been in police possession all this time—but Lisa’s response leaves him stunned.

By Wednesday, the reason becomes clearer. Todd’s phone has turned up at a pawn shop.

As Lisa orders for it to be sent to forensics, could it provide another angle for what happened that night?

7) A shock arrest is made

The following day, the results provided by forensics lead Lisa to head next door to No.4.

There, she arrests Brody on suspicion of theft, explaining that his fingerprints have been found all over Todd’s phone.

Sally (Sally Dynevor) and Tim (Joe Duttine) watch in shock as Brody protests his innocence, but Lisa leads him away to her car.

Kit (Jacob Roberts) listens with concern as events unfold, with the discovery leaving a major question over how Brody came into contact with Todd’s phone in the first place.

Can Brody explain himself, or has the missing phone now pulled him into Theo’s murder case?

8) Carl closes in on Tyrone

Tyrone (Alan Halsall) comes under fresh pressure next week, as the lie that’s keeping Summer locked up begins to catch up with him.

Summer has insisted that she didn’t kill Theo, and Tyrone could have helped prove it. On the night Theo died, he saw her leaving the flat, before looking up and seeing Theo still alive at the window afterwards.

But when Lisa questioned him, Tyrone claimed he had no memory of the moment, leaving Summer without the crucial alibi she needed.

Viewers now know why Tyrone has stayed quiet. Earlier that night, he saw Carl tampering with Kevin’s (Michael Le Vell) car at the garage, before accidentally knocking the jack and causing it to slip, crushing Carl.

Ronnie (Vinta Morgan) stepped in to deal with the aftermath, and Tyrone has kept quiet ever since, knowing that telling the truth about Summer could also expose what happened in the garage.

Since Carl was the one who seriously injured Tyrone in last year’s hit-and-run, Tyrone knows the police could see that as a clear motive if it came to light.

At the end of this week, Carl overheard enough of Tyrone and Ronnie’s conversation to realise that Tyrone is hiding something.

Next week, he makes it clear that he isn’t going to let it drop. In the Rovers, Carl tells Tyrone that he can see the fear in his eyes—and that he intends to find out what it is that he’s keeping secret.

With Summer banged up because Tyrone failed to give her the alibi she needed, how long can he keep protecting himself?

9) Jodie torments David

Away from the Daniel drama, Jodie turns her attention back to causing further problems for her sister Shona’s (Julia Goulding) marriage to David (Jack P Shepherd) next week.

After a row with Shona, David finds Jodie willing to listen. But she soon turns the conversation back to the night she used Shona’s phone to lure him upstairs, before letting him believe he was getting into bed with his wife.

David realised what was happening before anything went further, but he was drunk and can’t clearly remember every detail of the encounter.

Jodie uses that uncertainty against him, falsely claiming that David said her name and suggesting that he therefore must have known it was her.

David is floored by the lie. Although he later makes up with Shona, Jodie’s words continue to play on his mind.

The next day, Jodie makes another pointed remark about him saying her name, leaving David unsettled all over again.

David shares his worries with Maria (Samia Longchambon), who advises him to be honest with Shona and tell her exactly what Jodie has claimed.

Will David come clean?

10) Bethany’s birthday is overshadowed

Also next week, Sarah’s struggles following the attack at No.8 lead to her forgetting daughter Bethany’s (Lucy Fallon) birthday.

At the salon, Maria reveals the oversight, but Gary (Mikey North) quickly leaps to Sarah’s defence.

His reaction doesn’t go unnoticed, and Maria is surprised by how strongly he speaks up for Sarah.

Later, the Platts try to mark Bethany’s birthday properly with a gathering at the bistro, but it doesn’t take long for the mood to shift when Jodie turns up.

Rather than letting the family focus on Bethany, Jodie starts banging on about Theo’s death, somewhat killing the party atmosphere!
