Coronation Street viewers were recently introduced to Idris Nazir, a new arrival in Weatherfield who has already caused quite a stir. Played by actor Junade Khan, Idris is the cousin of Alya Nazir and has quickly become one of the soapâs most talked-about new faces.
Since making his debut on the cobbles, Idris has wasted no time getting involved in village drama. Alongside clashing with a few residents, he has also caught the attention of Leanne Battersby, sparking a romance despite warnings from Alya about his reputation.
While fans are only just getting to know Idris, Junade Khan is no stranger to the spotlight. Away from Coronation Street, the actor enjoys a busy family life with his wife Gem and their two children, Alara-Star and Pacino. And it seems that performing talent runs strongly in the family.
In fact, Junade recently revealed that his children are already building impressive acting careers of their own, and according to him, theyâre appearing on screens even more frequently than he is.
Speaking about his youngstersâ growing success, Junade joked: âMy kids are actually on screen more than me! My daughter worked with Angelina Jolie in a film called Anxious People, and did a Ridley Scott film, and my little boy has done a Marvel film and Waffle the Wonder Dog. So now thereâs me in Corrie, itâs all good!â

The proud father has often shared updates about his childrenâs achievements, celebrating their milestones with fans on social media.
Earlier this year, Junade opened up about an exciting moment for his son Pacino after the youngster secured a role in a television show that he had been hoping to be part of. The actor posted an emotional message describing just how much the opportunity meant to his five-year-old son.
âSo proud of our baby boy! His reaction to booking the role in a TV show that he loves! At just 5yrs old, was absolutely everything â swipe to see his excited little face!
âHe loved the whole audition process, and really wished and prayed hard for this one. His school teacher told us that after his 1st recall, he wrote this down as a wish on their class wish board for 2026.â
The proud dad also explained how much effort Pacino had put into the auditions and how much support he received from his family throughout the process.
âAnd after his final recall, we saw him write out his prayer wish at our church. His sister is absolutely delighted for him too.â
The role was clearly a special moment for the entire family, with Junade sharing how excited everyone was to see Pacinoâs dream become a reality.
âHugged him so tight and proudly, and couldnât wait to run into school to tell her teacher his news! Busy times ahead but all very exciting. He had his fitting this week and itâs so clear heâs going to have the most amazing time.â

While Pacino has been enjoying success in front of the camera, his older sister Alara-Star has also been making waves in the entertainment industry.
Earlier this year, Gem celebrated her daughterâs involvement in a major Hollywood production after the release of a trailer for a highly anticipated film. Sharing her excitement online, she praised Alara-Starâs work on the project and reflected on the experience she had while filming overseas.
